Tuesday, I drove west to Madelia, MN and visited Kathy and Merv’s beautiful home and farm. I was greeted by blooming Western Pickly Pears. These flowers are blooming on top of sprawling, flat sections of very pickly pads of the cactus. They like to grow in rocky landscape. Kathy tells me the blooms last only about 12 hours and the plant will bloom 2 – 3 days. Thank you for sharing your glorious flowers with me.
